littlebitofmilk: This is how I cope with being in the countryside on the other side of the world.  I Skype with friends so say nothing.  Just to watch them get ready, and go about watching my nerdy shows. :)  My friend Steff watches me get ready for my big DC meeting. It’s 5:30 in the morning, New York time. I don’t know how to do hair, so I bring a bunch of pins to the Penn Station bathroom and ask a very nice woman to pin my hair up in a proper bun. Also, Steff is a nerd.
